Tips for Drop-off

1- Please have students sitting on the passenger side of the car. If students have to climb over siblings and other items it slows down our drop-off line.
2- Parents cannot get out of the car.
3- ONLY students in TK/Kindergarten, 1st grade, and Ms. Tulbure’s class (and their siblings) may use the main parking lot. Your signs really help- please make sure you have one we can easily read.
4- Please do NOT drive around cars. Please be patient and wait to move forward.
5- Please drive s.l.o.w.l.y while in the parking lot and refrain from using your cell phone while driving.
6- Please do not wait to watch your child walk to class. It slows down the drop-off line. Staff will make sure all students get to class safely.
7- Parents do not stop cars in the crosswalk. The crossing guard cannot cross students if ANY part of a car is within the crosswalk lines. This can definitely slow down arrival.

Important reminders – Please read

Students should be in their classrooms at 8:00 am. On the first day of school only, parents may drop students off or walk them to find their classroom. Students will line up outside their classroom. We plan to have a TK/Kindergarten and 1st grade only (and siblings) drive-through drop-off line in the middle level each day. Parents will need to remain in their cars and staff and volunteers will assist students. Pick-up for TK/K/1st will be on the lower yard by the large lower gate near the last portable. There will not be drive-through car line pick-up available at dismissal. Grades 2, 3, 4, & 5 have dismissal on the upper yard. Everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing when they are in larger groups waiting for students and as you enter our school site on the first day. More specific drop-off line and pick-up information will be sent to all families with all of our procedures next week. We will also have Running Cubs, where students can run laps to music on our beautiful new track on Fridays at 7:30 am. Welcome – Presidents’ Message – August 2021

Dear Chaparral Families,

On behalf of the Parent Faculty Club (PFC) at Chaparral, we would like to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year! We hope you had a wonderful summer and are ready for a year of community building and fun!

Chaparral’s PFC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and works side-by-side with the school to achieve a common goal: to make Chaparral the best school for our children! Our goal is to bring back Chaparral’s fun, wonderful community, while also raising funds to ensure that our kids have all the resources they need to thrive! The PFC raises over $300,000 a year to supplement Chaparral’s facilities, activities and programming. The PFC has provided funding for our new fence, lower yard play structure (coming soon), new trees, benches, running track and more! We need your continued support to maintain Chaparral’s level of excellence!

You can support Chaparral by getting involved in the PFC! Check out of website at www.Chaparralpfc.org, attend our monthly PFC Meetings (The First Friday of the month at 8:15), talk to members of our Executive Board, email us at Chaparralpfc@gmail.com or come stop by the PFC office! Please come to our first PFC Meeting on Friday, September 10th at 8:15am, followed by Coffee with Mrs. Brazell. PFC meetings are a great opportunity to learn about upcoming events, meet other Chaparral parents, introduce ideas and ask questions. We are excited to see you there!

Presidents’ Message – Dec 2020

Hello Chaparral Families,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! Whether you are attending Virtual Academy or “On Campus” learning we are one united Chaparral community! As your Co-Presidents, we are excited to lead you into this new school year and provide the best experience for our children.

We have been working all summer to ensure that this year is the best it can be for our kids and community, and are getting creative to do just that! Although things won’t be the same, we are looking forward to new ways to connect, engage, and fundraise to give our kids the very best!

As always, we are open to your input, ideas, and help. Please reach out to chaparralpfc@gmail.com anytime! Our first Zoom PFC Meeting will be on Friday, September 11th at 8:15 am. Please join us to discuss the upcoming year, events we have planned and how you can get involved. We are so grateful for your support!

To our FAMILIES who have already donated to our annual Donor Drive, THANK YOU. Your donations are extremely important! You can make your annual Donor Drive contribution at ParentSquare: Payments. Please help us reach our goal of 100% participation in 100 days! We are working to add back specialists and staff as donations and scheduling permits and need to prepare for the day we can return to On Campus learning. Without your donations, none of that will be possible.

We want to thank the PARENTS of our community! Not only because you have stepped up and helped in unimaginable ways, but also for your patience and perseverance in all of the new roles you have assumed at home. You are incredible! Thank you for supporting your fellow parents as well as your own families. THANK YOU to our amazing EXECUTIVE BOARD and PFC committee and event chairs. With your help, we will make this year great for our community!

We are so grateful to have an incredible ADMINISTRATION who has worked tirelessly without pause to ensure our children’s success. THANK YOU especially to Mrs. Brazell, Mrs. Donna Welti and Mrs. Lampert for all you have done and continue to do for our children and school! We are so grateful our school is under your leadership through this difficult time.

We are only as strong as each of us and we are so grateful to be a part of this amazing and strong community. Thank you for your commitment to your kids, school and community!

All the best, Your Presidents: Grace Fisher, Lindsay Vaisman and Julie Berkus
