Drop-Off and Pick-Up Reminders
Please remember our campus is open at 7:45. Students should not be left unattended until 7:40 when we have staff members to watch your child. For safety, it is very important that no child is left alone waiting for the gates to open prior to 7:40am.
Please do not allow your children to climb on the hills/fences adjacent to our school. These areas are off limits as they are unsafe. There may be plants and items on the hills that can harm your children. Also with the rain, it is very slippery and can cause serious injury.
When you are in the traffic line, it is very important that you move all the way up to keep the flow of traffic moving. Similar to a theme park,, when you get to the front of the line, you listen to a staff member to filter into lanes (you do not get to choose your lane). It is ok for students to walk an extra 10 feet to get to their destination. In fact, it promotes a healthy lifestyle!
Please leave your furry friends at home when dropping off or picking up your students. Even the most friendly dogs could get excited and potentially harm a person or another pet.
Report Cards
Your student’s report card will be available for you to view/print Monday, March 6th at noon. CLICK HERE for directions on how to access the report card.

Independent Study
Please note, if you know your student is going to be absent for 5-10 days, and you are seeking an Independent Study packet, we need 2 weeks notice to process your request.
Please CLICK HERE to submit your request for Independent Study at least 2 weeks in advance. I will review your request, and you will be notified whether or not your request has been approved. Once your request has been approved, the office will issue you an Independent Study contract. This contract will need to be signed by both you and your student. The teacher will be notified and he/she will provide your student with school work to complete. The work will be given to your student the day before the IS begins and must be completed and returned on the day they return.
If you do not request 2 weeks prior, we cannot guarantee the request will be approved. Please note, independent study is only granted to those who will be missing a minimum of 5 days of school with a maximum of 10 days of school.
Yearbook Request – SEND US YOUR PHOTOS!!
Yearbook Request – SEND US YOUR PHOTOS!!!
Calling all proud parents! Help us make the yearbook full of unique memories! Please send any photos you take throughout the year to:
ChaparralYearbookCommittee@gmail.com
Or text them to Grace at (818) 395-5994. It takes a village to capture all the moments through the year and everything you submit would be a huge help. Please make sure to only send photos of our kids on campus or at school sponsored events. Please do not send photos of kids outside of this as they will not be considered for placement. Your contribution will go a long way to helping make the yearbook one that everyone will be included in and enjoy.
Measure S Update
Measure S – UPDATE
Coming up on November 8, 2022. Measure S will be on the ballot. Measure S will provide LVUSD with the resources to repair our over 170 leaky roofs, aging plumbing/sewer lines, and out-of-date electrical systems. Additionally, the Measure will allow LVUSD to replace 60+ year-old HVAC systems across the school district. The Bond will provide opportunities to modernize our electrical system and install solar to lessen our environmental impact. School districts do not receive any direct funding for facility improvement efforts, but we are eligible for matching funds for existing bond measures allowing us to extend the community’s investment. Measure S simply extends the existing Measure R tax rates from 1997, so there is no net tax increase for passing this bond measure. The entire Measure, if passed, would be overseen by an independent Citizen’s Oversight Committee to ensure local control of the funds.

If a student’s electronic item (including cell phone/Smartwatch) disrupts the classroom, instructional process or a school activities, the device shall be confiscated by a certificated or classified staff member and be given to an administrator who will return it to the student at the end of the day.
A second infraction shall result in the device being confiscated and the parent/guardian will be required to meet with the
