Dear Chaparral Families,
We are so excited for the 2025-26 school year! Our annual Donor Drive is Chaparral’s single most important fundraiser of the year, historically bringing in more than 75% of our operating budget. This year, Chaparral’s PFC has an annual budget of over $400,000, and a goal of raising at least $250,000 through the Donor Drive. With State and local government cuts to school funding, our Donor Drive is necessary to fund the programs and resources our children need which sets our school and district apart!
Donor Drive funds are primarily used to pay the salaries of our specialists, instructional aides, and campus supervisors, which make up a majority of our expenses. For example, last year Chaparral opened a new MakerSpace facility, fully funded by PFC contributions, and staffed by our MakerSpace specialist, Mr. B. Our PE program is led by Coach Rob, another position funded entirely through Donor Drive. Our total spend for specialists, campus supervisors, and instructional aides, is more than $300,000.
The Donor Drive is crucial to our ability to fund our budget for this year. Your PFC is dedicated to ensuring that your funds are used in the most prudent and effective way to enrich our students’ lives. Donor Drive funds will be used for:
- Special assemblies on campus
- Salaries and supplies for Chaparral’s physical education program
- Salaries and supplies for Chaparral’s MakerSpace, a STEAM place for all Chaparral students to collaborate, design, and create.
- Library resources, including books for the library
- Teacher expense allotments to spend on classroom supplies and projects
- Online resources, educational software, print publications (Freckle, Scholastic News, etc)
- Salaries of campus supervisors to ensure the safety of children during non-class hours
- Salaries of instructional assistants who assist teachers in the classroom
- School site improvements and safety measures
- iPads and laptop computers in every classroom
- Field Trips
- Community Events, such as Welcome Events, Family Dance, Variety Show, 5th Grade Promotion, Staff Appreciation Week, Wellness Week, Trunk or Treat
