LV Virtual Author Series- Starts 1st Week Of February

LV Virtual Author Series- Starts 1st Week Of February

Introducing our 2021 #LVReads Virtual Author Series for all LVUSD elementary students! For this series, we’ve scheduled an incredible line-up of popular children’s authors who will be virtually visiting with our students during the months of February and March. Please see the attached flyers with information on our exciting author panel including dates, times and links.

In order to reach all students, we have created separate programs for TK-2 and 3-5 students. Starting the 1st Week of February:

  • TK-2nd grade authors will be featured every Thursday at 12:30
  • 3rd-5th grade authors will meet on Tuesdays at 1:00.

To make things even simpler, we will invite a few classes to participate in person during the event and the assembly will be live streamed to all other elementary students in our district. All students will have the ability to interact with the author by submitting questions in advance or during the presentation through the google forms below.

To keep you current on any last minute changes in our line-up, we will post updates on our LVUSD Library site. Feel free to reach out to us directly if you have any questions. This will be lots of fun for our students!

  2. Always wear a mask in the drop-off and pick-up car line.
  3. Please continue to complete the safety survey at home and screenshot the confirmation.
  4. Have a sign on your dashboard with your student’s name. It makes the car-line go so much faster.
Chaparral Library is Back!

Chaparral Library is Back!

It is now possible to check out books from the Chaparral library. Please click this library link to search for books you’d like to check out. You may either put a book on hold through the site or email Mrs. Davis at ldavis@lvusd.org. In order to check out, there should not be any outstanding books on the student’s record. Mrs. Davis will notify you when books are ready for pickup, and they will be placed in a marked bag on a table in the parking lot. It will be beside the blue book return box, by the mural and flagpole. If you have any questions, email Mrs. Davis at ldavis@lvusd.org.

Music With Mrs. Chaffee

Music With Mrs. Chaffee

The PFC is committed to returning Chaparral’s special programs to our kids. Because of our fundraising efforts and the generous support of our families to Donor Drive, we have been able to re-hire the fabulous Mrs. Beverly Chaffe. This music program is a direct benefit of the money raised by our PFC, and demonstrates why your support is so important.

Mrs. Chaffee has developed a virtual music classroom and will introduce lessons live for all grades, including Virtual Academy. Your child’s teacher will be sending home more information about music this week. It is not too late to donate to support this and other programs *coming soon* to Chaparral! Click Here to make your donation.

Without your donations, none of that will be possible.

We want to thank the PARENTS of our community! Not only because you have stepped up and helped in unimaginable ways, but also for your patience and perseverance in all of the new roles you have assumed at home. You are incredible! Thank you for supporting your fellow parents as well as your own families. THANK YOU to our amazing EXECUTIVE BOARD and PFC committee and event chairs. With your help, we will make this year great for our community!

We are so grateful to have an incredible ADMINISTRATION who has worked tirelessly without pause to ensure our children’s success.
